Soon, a Plastic Tax on every order!

Soon, a Plastic Tax on every order!

LEGO® fans, beware! From next month, a new tax will be introduced on plastic building bricks: the so-called 'Plastic Tax'. This means that from now on, every LEGO® order will be charged extra depending on the number of bricks you order.

The measure aims to reduce plastic consumption and encourage consumers to be more conscious of their purchases. For every 100 grams of LEGO® bricks, there is a €0.50 surcharge. So this can add up considerably for large sets and bulk orders!

According to the new regulations, online shops must automatically incorporate the Plastic Tax into the total amount of the order. This will increase prices of popular LEGO® sets such as the Millennium Falcon and Hogwarts Castle.

Although LEGO® itself is already taking steps towards more sustainable alternatives, such as bioplastics and recycled materials, this tax is still being introduced as an extra incentive to further reduce the use of plastic.

So take advantage of current prices quickly, before the Plastic Tax takes effect from 01-04-2025! Or look for alternative building materials, such as wooden blocks or sustainable bricks.
