Meet Horst Sammet and his beautiful LEGO® MOC collection

In this episode of meeting our fans we meet Horst Sammet. Horst became a LEGO® fan when he was given LEGO® as a child in the 1960s. After his working career, he rediscovered the love for LEGO® and Horst now builds his own MOC sets.

ToyPro: how and when did your passion for LEGO® start?

Horst: In the mid-sixties, with holidays, such as my birthday and Christmas, I got various LEGO® bricks, two model cars and a train with rails and three engines. I own these classic sets and parts to this day. As a result of studying and working, I had stored my LEGO® in the attic between 1974 and 2015. In 2015, however, I became infected with the LEGO® virus again.

ToyPro: what is your favorite theme and why?

Horst: the LEGO® train track belongs to my favorites, because it has to do with journeys and the LEGO® locomotives and wagons can be built in different variants.

ToyPro: what is your current project?

Horst: at the moment I am working on a MOC forest tractor. I have already finished the trailer for this set, as you can see in the photo below.

ToyPro: what are your goals for the future?

Horst: I do not want to lose the joy in LEGO®, even if I work on some ideas for more than half a year. My favorite parts are 'old' LEGO® Technic parts.

ToyPro: which MOCs do you build?

Horst: I build very different MOCs, partly things I see in daily life or I customize existing sets according to my own ideas. I only build my sets with original LEGO® parts.
