Beautify your LEGO® sets with lights from Brickstuff

Are you planning to build a beautiful LEGO® model and do you want to take it to the next level? Then we have just the thing for you! Brickstuff’s Lighting System makes amazing LEGO® sets even more amazing. Brickstuff’s lights and wires are so small that you can use them between LEGO® bricks, as you normally do. We had the pleasure to talk with Rob Klingberg recently about his company and cool LEGO® lights.

How does it work? First of all, you don’t need to know electronics to use this lighting system. You can snap LEGO® pieces directly on top of the lights and wires, such that you can hide them in anything you build. Brickstuff offers guides and tips to help you on your way. On the website you can also find inspiration and ideas for lighting LEGO® creations.

All Brickstuff lights run on 5V DC. Any "power to go" type of battery with a USB output and on/off switch should work. Depending on how many lights you are powering, and how long you need to run them, you choose a battery pack with more or less amp-hours.

Owner and founder Rob Klingberg has been a fan of LEGO® his entire life. He began to emerge from his dark age period in 2010 when he started building the modular buildings with his kids, and also when he began collecting the old 12V train system parts and sets. He noticed that there were so many fixtures in the modular buildings and other sets that represented lights in the real world but which did not light up, so he decided to try making the smallest lights with the thinnest wire available anywhere.

He thought fans of all ages and technical inclinations deserved a simple, flexible, extensible system that could bring any creation to life in entirely new ways. The kind of product that would make observers of all ages look at your creation and say, "Wow. Now that's cool!"

Brickstuff is a family business with its home base in Minnesota, USA. The company is constantly working on new ideas and designs that let you enhance your creations in ways never before possible.

The project Rob is most proud of is a project he did back in 2015. This was, and still is, the largest LEGO® lighting setup in the world. The project was for a customer who had spent years building a 300 sq ft LEGO® city using over 100,000 minifigs and over 2,000,000 bricks. Some of the buildings were 14ft tall. We supplied over 1,000 lights, and the end result was spectacular. The city was only displayed once, at a convention called Celebricktion that took place in Atlanta in 2015.
