LEGO® discontinues Movie theme (for now)

LEGO® recently released several new LEGO® Movie 2 sets, but not much later we saw that all LEGO® Movie sets are end of life. Would the entire LEGO® Movie theme now be end of life? We decided to ask LEGO®.

End of life means that a producer stops making a product. A LEGO® set that is end of life is no longer produced by LEGO®. If the set is sold out in stores, you can no longer buy it new.

So we saw that all LEGO® Movie sets are end of life. We therefore asked LEGO® the Netherlands if it had terminated the entire theme and we received the following answer (translated from Dutch):

"The movie sets will not come back as far as I know now due to disappointing resale."

So LEGO® is removing LEGO® Movie from the collection and the theme will not be back (for a while). Personally we believe that's a shame, because we think it's a fun theme.
