Build a LEGO® 76896 GT-R NISMO Transformer yourself

The Speed Champions set 76896 is a fun set that is also easy to build for starting LEGO® fans. However, LEGO® designer MC tung goes a step further with this set. He has converted the GT-R Nismo into a Transformer. You can see and read the result and how to build this Transformer yourself in this article.

ToyPro has asked MC tung to give you some tips for building the Transformer and he provides the following step-by-step plan.

1. Build the LEGO® 76895 GT-R Nismo according to the building instructions, but do not put the stickers on the car.

2. Detach the built set in three parts: main (with the side doors), window and roof, and the back.

3. Remove all the parts you need to keep the car's skeleton. This creates space so that you can convert the set into a Transformer.

4. Now consider how you want to transform the set. Here you can of course use the YouTube video as inspiration. See how many joints you need and how to place them.

5. Now start building and try to place the car parts of the standard set. Just keep trying until it works.

6. Continue to combine the car parts to create a car-shaped Transformer as close as possible to the original set.

This step-by-step plan requires your own insight and creativity, which of course makes LEGO® so much fun. Create a Transformer the way you want to make it. Maybe now you also have inspiration to convert other sets into a Transformer!
