Over the next 3 years, the LEGO® group will invest $ 400 million in sustainability and social responsibility. This way, LEGO® wants to contribute to a better world. One of the plans that has already been announced is to replace the plastic LEGO® bags.

LEGO® wants to replace the well-known transparent plastic bags with paper bags. In 2021, LEGO® will run a test for this with the aim of having all plastic bags replaced by 2025. LEGO® indicates that it has received many letters from children asking to replace the plastic bags and is now responding to this.

LEGO® also wants to manufacture all LEGO® sets and other products CO2-neutral from 2022. To this end, the company wants to install more solar panels and use more efficient machines.
In addition, LEGO® wants to reduce the use of water and produce less non-recyclable waste. Furthermore, the LEGO® group finances several initiatives to support 8 million children worldwide in their development with the help of LEGO®. To this end, the Danish toy manufacturer will collaborate with UNICEF and Save the Children, among others.
