Legoland is coming to the Netherlands

It is official, Scheveningen is getting its own Lego Land Discovery Centre. The Company behind the Lego Land Parks, Merlin Entertainments, is planning to build an indoor LegoLand Discovery centre at the seaside resort of Scheveningen. It will be the first and only location in the Netherlands, the fourth Discovery Centre in Europe, and is expected to draw 300.000 to 350.000 visitors a year.

The Discovery Centres target children aged two to 12, who can build with LEGO® and enjoy the attractions the Discovery Centres offer. The one in Scheveningen will be similar to the other Discovery Centres in Europe. They feature things like a 4D-cinema, attractions, large scale LEGO® models, the possibility to design your own brick and of course you can build with and enjoy LEGO®.

The plans were announced early in february but still had to get approved by the The Hague city council. Now that the council has approved the plans Merlin Entertainment can start with the construction of the discovery centre. The opening of LEGO® Land Scheveningen is scheduled for spring 2019.

We are very happy that the Netherlands is finally getting its own Legoland, after earlier failed attempts, and are looking forward to going there! Not that close to Scheveningen? There are more than 25 Resorts and Discovery centres all around the world. From the original one in Billund Denmark to Malaysia, Dubai and California . So, wherever you are, there is a pretty good chance that there is a Legoland close by.
