Famous games like Pacman, Street Fighter and Space Invaders all started and became famous as arcade games. With a set of buttons and joysticks and sometimes a steering wheel, you could let loose on the arcade game. Many games worked with scores, making it a competition for anyone who tried to get the highest score. Anyone who tried after you would see your name at the top of the leaderboard.
