Asteroids, also called asteroids, are pieces of matter that orbit the Sun just like planets. Did you know that 1,113,527 asteroids have already been discovered! Most of these debris are located in orbits between the planets Mars and Jupiter, in the so-called asteroid belt. It is mostly small grit that is not detectable with a telescope. This grit frequently lands on Earth as shooting stars.
