The LEGO® IDEAS: Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera

The LEGO® IDEAS: Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera set brings a true icon of photography to the LEGO IDEAS range and is the 53rd product of the fan-sourced platform.

The model consists of 516 parts and includes many of the design features that made the original OneStep Camera so popular among fans, encapsulated in a unique display model with functional features. In addition to the camera, it also includes a buildable Polaroid Time-Zero Land Film pack and three LEGO® Polaroid illustrated 'pictures'.

The camera has a working viewfinder, the iconic Colour Spectrum, exposure compensation dial and a shutter release button so you can even load and eject the illustrated photos. Also included is an opening film door to load LEGO® Polaroid photos.

Speaking about his inspiration for the design, Marc, a.k.a. Minibrick Productions, said the following: "The OneStep took just over a month from design to completion. I started designing while on holiday in France because I couldn't wait to build it. I have always loved the design of the Polaroid OneStep. It is incredibly iconic and you see it everywhere!"

The real Polaroid camera

The original Polaroid OneStep SX-70 camera was released in 1977 and quickly became a huge hit among photographers. The camera brought instant photography to many households around the world, allowing people to develop photos with their own hands.

The LEGO® IDEAS: Polaroid OneStep SX-70 Camera 21345 is now available for pre-order and will ship from 1 January.

Other cameras

From 1 January, you can also get a new LEGO® creator 3 in 1 set that you can turn into a retro camera. The other two models you can make with this set are a retro video camera and an old television. Last year, LEGO® also released the Disney camera. An old movie camera in honour of Disney's 100th anniversary.
