ToyPro: when did your passion for LEGO® start?

Brickwizard: the passion for LEGO® started when I was 4 years old and got a LEGO® pirate ship from my parents. Although they had to help me with building, I immediately loved LEGO® and this has never stopped.

ToyPro: when did you start building LEGO® MOCs and building custom LEGO® trucks in particular?

Brickwizard: when I was about 12 years old, the LEGO® Technic and LEGO® Model Teams came out. These caught my attention and inspired me to build my own creations.

ToyPro: what do you like about LEGO® truck MOCs?

Brickwizard: I have a lot of fun with coming up with and building minifigure scale trucks. I am also secretly proud of myself every time I see my own LEGO® MOCs. I also hope that other enthusiasts can appreciate my LEGO® trucks.

ToyPro: how do you decide which LEGO® truck you want to build?

Brickwizard: that is usually a mystery, depending on what I encounter on the road in the truck or on the internet. I am building a certain basis that I adapt in my own way and in my own style. That is why I never, for example, never rebuild a commercial truck with advertising or an exact copy of a photo.

ToyPro: do you have goals and projects for the future?

Brickwizard: I have the dream to ever release a book with my LEGO® minifigure scale trucks. In this book various construction drawings and a rich variety of photographs will be presented. I myself also have several of these kinds of books from other builders. I would really like to publish my own book about my LEGO® MOCs in the future.

ToyPro: we also like to tell our readers about your design and construction process. How do you proceed when you are building a LEGO® truck MOC?

Brickwizard: when I start a new project, I start with the chassis or with the cab, depending on what I feel like or what I already have in my head. If I have something in my head, I am always curious if it really works or looks as good as I have thought. Often it is true, but often enough this isn’t the case, and then I run into a new challenge again. Fortunately, LEGO® always comes up with a solution.

ToyPro: why do you choose ToyPro to buy LEGO® parts?

Brickwizard: I choose ToyPro because you sell a wide variety of bricks, from hard to find LEGO® parts to 'simple' basic blocks. In addition, ToyPro always delivers quickly, so that I never sit without blocks for long.

ToyPro: Do you have tips for our readers who want to build a LEGO® truck MOC?

Brickwizard: Yes, if you want to build a LEGO® truck MOC then I have the following tips for you:

  1. Provide a good example and preferably several photos of the truck you want to build with LEGO®. Another good idea is to admire the truck with your own eyes.
  2. Start easy. I recommend to first build a small LEGO® truck with one color for the chassis (black is easiest) a single color for the cab (red, yellow, green or blue).
  3. Start building the LEGO® truck with the wheels. This allows you to see whether the ratios are correct.
  4. Try to build your chassis in a way that you can easily make them shorter or longer. This gives you more options for building and in this way you can opt for a box, tractor or longer cabin at a later stage.
  5. Pay attention to the details. What is on or around a truck such as cabin, chassis, wheels, fuel tank, exhaust, dish, towbar, lights and cargo area.
  6. Do not give up!

We would like to thank Brickwizard for the inspiration, beautiful pictures and good, useful tips. We hope that your dream comes true and that in the future you will publish a book with your beautiful truck MOCs.
