The interesting life cycle of a LEGO® City minifigure

LEGO® figures come and go. Have you ever wondered when a LEGO® minifig is born and how fast it grows up? Thanks to the following LEGO® sets, we know how quickly a baby grows up.

2016. A LEGO® minifigure is born

The LEGO® 60134 Fun in the Park set includes proud parents relaxing in the park with their newborn LEGO® baby. By the way, this was the first baby ever in the LEGO® City theme.

2018. They grow up so fast

Two years later, set LEGO® 60182 Pickup and caravan comes out and we meet the same cute family again. Mum and dad have not changed much, but their baby has grown in 2 years to a boy who is now about 12 years old.

2021. A new generation 2021.

Three years have now passed and recently LEGO® 60283 Holiday Camper was released. The baby we met only 5 years ago is now an adult LEGO® man, married and has a baby of his own! How do we know this LEGO® figure is the same as the boy from the LEGO® 60182 set? He's still wearing the same clothes! We estimate that our LEGO® dad is now about 30 years old.

We can now conclude that 1 year in LEGO® time is about 6 years in our time. We are curious if we will encounter this LEGO® figure in future sets, perhaps as a grandpa. We'll keep you posted!
