With LEGO® the possibilities are endless and millions of people all over the world prove it every day. While many people use the bricks and components recreationally, you can also use LEGO® for education. By recreating or portraying things with LEGO®, you can help people to understand them better. This is exactly what YouTuber redshoebox did. He rebuilt 4 mechanical principles with LEGO® Technic parts and shows you how they work. Very interesting if you ask us!
In the video from redshoebox you find 4 different mechanical principles. First a circular rack is demonstrated. You can find this in several machines and for example also in your car. The second one shows how a 90 degree stepper motor works. Stepper motors are mainly found in devices with positioning systems. Think for example of printers, hard disks but also robot arms. Thirdly, you can see how a triangular cam works. A cam is a rotating piece that can convert rotational movement into straight, linear movement. This principle is usually found in a rotating wheel, and thus in many machines. Finally, there is a worm gear. This principle is also very common and is used in many different things. From musical instruments like guitars and banjos to large constructions like a lift or a gate.
At ToyPro we love all kinds of LEGO® and thus also all kinds of creations. So we also like to write about these kinds of clever LEGO® Technic constructions. Someone who is also very familiar with LEGO® Technic, is Sariel. We already talked about some of his LEGO® Technic builds and tests. You could already read about his LEGO® Mini stepper mechanism, his LEGO® propeller test and his comparison between the BuWizz and the LEGO® RC Buggy motor.
