Convert the Material Handler (42144) into a skid-steer loader

We have another fun alternative LEGO® model for you, namely a Skid-steer loader made with the parts from the 42144 Material Handler.

Naturally, you can again download the instructions for this for free. So this makes this 2 in 1 LEGO® technic set actually a 3 in 1.

Maybe you will say: what is a skid-steer loader? But you will probably have seen one before. A skid-steer loader, SSLs or skidsteer is a small, engine-driven machine with a rigid frame and lifting arms to which a bucket and other implements or attachments can be attached.Skid-steer loaders are usually equipped with four wheels or they have tracks these can be driven independently giving the machines a very small turning radius. This "zero-turn" capability makes them extremely manoeuvrable and valuable for applications where a compact, powerful and agile loader or tool carrier is needed in work areas with limited space.

This Skid-steer Loader was conceived by SarmadHassan, using 481 parts from the 835 parts of the original set. This is the first set he created and put on rebrickable. Want to make other designs using the parts from the Material Handler (42144)? Then check out the special Rebrickable site for this set.

About LEGO® Technic

LEGO® Technic is the theme for those who want to go a step further. The sets from this theme mimic the functionality from reality and the sets look more and more like the real vehicles. You will find LEGO® (sports) cars, forklifts, cranes and trucks in this theme, among other things.

LEGO® introduced the first Technic sets in 1977 when it named this category Technic Sets. In 1982, LEGO® changed the name to LEGO® Technic. From the beginning, Technic creations had electric motors that have evolved over the years. In 2007 LEGO® introduced the Power Functions system, consisting of 2 motors, two IR receivers, remote control and battery box.

ToyPro offers a wide range of LEGO® Technic sets. Do you want to design a technical set yourself? In our range you will find more than 1,600 unique LEGO® Technic parts, such as axes, connectors, gears and couplings.
