Would you like to make an awesome creation of your own? Or a MOC (my own creation). But don't know where to start? Then take a look at the video of Ethan the Artisan. In this video he shows through several steps how he makes a MOC of a Cyber Punk model from LEGO®.
If you watched the video in full you'll see that in step one you should first have a plan of what you want to make and for that plan you can also find inspiration anywhere. So take a walk around town or through nature. You can get inspiration from anywhere. Once you have thought of something, it is easy if you know approximately what you want to make and make a drawing or sketch of it. Ethan also says that it is good to use complementary colors. This means using colors that are opposite each other in the color wheel. This will make your model stand out even more and make the details more visible. But of course this is not always necessary. Because a Millennium Falcon in yellow and purple also looks a bit weird.

The second step is to make the base. Ethan himself prefers to use a base with a black border or a free base. By using a raised base you already give your model the feel of a display model right away.

Then comes creating the terrain. What kind of terrain your model needs is of course entirely up to what you are making and you can make this in different ways. So look at what colors you want to use and what parts are available in that color and also take into account where you want to place your main design.

Then you can proceed to build your main design. In Ethan's case, those are the buildings. Once these are in place, you can move on to the next step: applying details.
Applying details really brings the model to life. Also by placing minifigures your model gets more detail and you can create a whole story. So in this step you can go all out with your imagination.
We are sure you will make great MOCs using these steps and we are very curious to see what you all have made or will make. Did you make something and would you like to share it with us? Then do so on Facebook or instagram and Tag us and/or use the #toyprobuilds.
