Joy is one of the main characters from Pixar's Inside Out (2015) and represents the emotion joy in the mind of 11-year-old girl Riley. She is an optimistic and energetic character who always tries to make the best out of every situation and keep Riley happy.

Joy is the shining center of Riley's emotions and loves to take charge to make sure Riley stays happy. She is tremendously dedicated to her mission to make Riley happy and has trouble letting other emotions, such as sadness, play a role. Although she initially struggles to understand the value of sadness, she eventually learns that other emotions are also important for a balanced life.
