What is Harry Potter doing at Christmas (other than, wearing a warm red hat, waiting in the LEGO® advent calendar on Christmas Eve)?
Harry Potter celebrates Christmas in a variety of ways. Some highlights:
At Hogwarts:
Harry often spends Christmas at Hogwarts with Ron, Hermione and other friends. This includes festive meals in the Great Hall, which is beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and magical decorations. He receives presents, such as Mrs. Weasley's iconic knitted sweater.
At the Weasleys:
In the fourth book (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), Harry celebrates Christmas with Ron's family at the Nest. It is a warm and cozy time with lots of good food and magical games.
In Grimmauld Place:
In the fifth book (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), Harry celebrates Christmas at Sirius Zwarts' house with members of the Order. Although it is a gloomy place, the presence of friends and family makes it warmer.
During the search for Gruzielements:
In the seventh book (Harry Potter and the Relics of Death), Harry is searching for Gruzielements with Ron and Hermione. They celebrate a dreary Christmas, far from conviviality. On Christmas Eve, they visit Goderic's End, which becomes an important but also dangerous event.
Christmas in the World of Harry Potter emphasizes friendship, warmth and the magic of being together, even in difficult times.
