We are wide awake again for this review of the 71459 Stable of Dream Creatures. In this set, you meet mythical creatures and can grow magical flowers. Cooper can turn grain into flour with the mill that can really turn. Izzy can take care of the mythical creature Pegasus the flying deer here. In this set, Pegasus and the flowers can be built in two different versions.

The box contains 7 different bags, a sticker sheet and the instruction booklet. We start by building Mrs Castillo. She helps us continue building the first part of the dream stables. In this first part of construction, the middle part of the stables, there are already nice details. Like the cooker and lamp. Stickers are used to make the rug and stickers are also used on the doorposts. These are dark brown stickers and unfortunately don't add much as they fall away on the also dark brown doorposts.

Ms Castillo is ready to make the second floor and so we quickly move on to the second pocket. In the build-up, some LEGO® parts are also decorated with a sticker again. Also, some LEGO® Technic is already involved in the construction. In order to build up the grain mill and the windmill. It is always nice to see moving parts in a set. After all, this is how the LEGO® set comes more to life. After putting on the roof and plant decorations, we arrived at the third bag of LEGO®.

Out of the third bag come Zoey and two Dreamling mushrooms. They see that Mrs Castillo is busy and decide to help her build the dream stables and get to work on the right part. In doing so, we build a cosy seat to drink tea and take a rest from the battle against nightmares. We also build the trunk of the tree next to the house. The facade of the house is decorated by two stickers with a plant motif.

Cooper has fallen asleep and also enters the dream world. He is in the fourth pocket and together with Cactus cat we build the left part. This is the actual stable of the cottage. This again contains nice little details like the scythe to harvest the grain and a drinking bottle and feeding trough for the dream creatures.

From bag number five, Z-Blob comes to help place the roofs and windmill. The windmill is built with a new part. These large blades are 6 studs long and 2 studs wide. They slope downwards making them 1 stone thickness high. They appear later in the build in a different colour and so far this is one of the two sets that feature this new part.

Finally, Izzie has also fallen asleep and so can also help in the dream world. Izzy is totally in love with the dream creatures and especially with Pegasus, the flying horse. The unfortunate thing about building Pegasus is that the legs can only move straight forward so you can't still them a bit more. After building the gates to the cottage and the first part of Pegasus, the moment of choice has arrived. We move on to the final pocket.

The choice you have is Pegasus with pink flowers and the blue flowers and plants at the stables, or you make it just the other way around. Blue flowers and wings for pegasus and the pink flowers to the stables. The choice is yours. We chose the first option for this build. We did notice that compared to the other sets in the LEGO® DREAMZzz theme, this set is the easiest to convert to the other version. After placing the grain, this set is all set and you can enjoy playing.

There are no less than 7 minifigures in this set. The first one we came across was Mrs Castillo. She, as in the other sets she appears in, has a closed mouth on one side and an open mouth on the other side of the face. The body is in light aqua and on her back there are 4 studs you can build on. How the backpack is constructed does vary again. This time it is made of two 1x2 plates with hole and a gold bar in reddish-brown colour. Zoey has printed pearl-grey trousers with a dark blue bodice. Her face is smiling on one side and on the other she has a grin on her face. The two Dreamling mushrooms have a purple 3x3 saucer printed with azure blue dots on their heads and their faces are printed with gold dots, smiling mouth, tiny eyes and thick eyebrows. In this set, Cooper has a complete red racing suit on with a loose blue belt. Also, this face is again printed on two sides and is asleep on one side and has a grin on his face on the other. Z-Blob has the most variants in the different sets. In this set, he has a light green body and a face printed with two small eyes. Over that is a new part representing green slime. Finally, we have the always cheerful Izzie. On both sides of Izzie's head she is smiling then. On one side with eyes closed and teeth together, on the other with eyes open and mouth open. Izzie has two-coloured printed trousers and a light orange bodice printed on two sides.

We found it a fun set to build. Also because there are some LEGO® Technic parts in this set which adds movement to the set. It has lots of nice little details and lots of minifigs. Converting to the second version is easy and you don't have to take the whole house apart for it.
The stable with the dream creatures does not feature extensively in the first series of LEGO® DREAMZzz, but in episode two it seems like we do get a small glimpse of something resembling the stables. In this episode, at least, a lot of dream creatures pass by and we see Zoey for the first time.
