Meet Patrick Jacob and his marvelous LEGO® VW T1 Bullis

In this episode of our series meet our fans we meet Patrick Jacob from Germany. Patrick is a huge LEGO® and Volkswagen T1 fan, also known as the Volkswagen Bulli. It’s no surprise then that he has a huge passion for building LEGO® Volkswagen MOCs. We are going to talk about his passion for LEGO® and his amazing collection of LEGO® Volkswagen Bullis.
ToyPro: How and when did your passion for LEGO® start?
Patrick: The passion for LEGO® started in my childhood and has not left me to this day. From the beginning it gave me a lot of fun to play with LEGO® and to build things. When you are in a LEGO® store, you will meet both young and old people. LEGO® offers beautiful models for every group and that’s one of the beauties of it. You can buy a set or build your own model out of bricks. There are no limits to imagination and it is always a challenge.
ToyPro: Tell us about your collection of LEGO® sets.
Patrick: It is a wide collection of several topics. There are small models such as the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 or the Wall-E and larger models like the VW Camper and the Mini, up to several large Creator Expert houses. I cannot get rid of a model however and the Volkswagen camper is currently my absolute favorite. I have always liked the T1 and when the LEGO® model came out, I just had to have one. That it wouldn’t stay with one set, I did not suspect when I bought the first one. This model offers so many beautiful possibilities for own ideas and conversions. So again and again a new Bulli found a way to me.
ToyPro: What is your current project?
Patrick: My current project, who would have thought of it, is of course a Bulli. This time it will be a camper. I am currently working on the completion of the vehicle and then I will continue on working on the design of the interior.
ToyPro: What are your plans or goals for the future?
Patrick: There are always plans for the future, only space is a limiting factor. Nevertheless, MOCs of the Bullis and a major project, such as building a garage, still are future goals. I have seen some inspiration for it, so now I have to take on the challenge of designing and building something similar.
ToyPro: Why do you choose for ToyPro?
Patrick: Of course you don’t get all the parts in one store, especially when it comes to rare parts and colors. Nevertheless, I like to order with ToyPro, because ToyPro has a very good selection of LEGO® parts. If something is forgotten in an order, then your customer service is always available and takes care of the matter and sends the missing parts very quickly afterwards.
ToyPro. Finally, do you have some tips for our readers?
Patrick: My tip to all is to let the child out in you. Just start, create your own sets and realize your ideas in numerous LEGO® models.
