Discover the amazing LEGO® Art mosaics

LEGO® has recently launched a new product category: LEGO® Art, or LEGO® artworks. This summer 4 official LEGO® Art sets will be for sale. In this article we will also explain how you can build your own amazing LEGO® artwork.

LEGO® Pop Art

The first 4 works of art are pop art paintings. Check them out below.

You can also build 3 cool dark versions of sith with LEGO® 31200.

The LEGO® mosaic artworks are 48 by 48 studs. You will also find some new parts with these sets, such as a large brick separator. The LEGO® Art sets have a suggested retail price of € 120 and contain 2900 or 3400 parts. If you want to put all 4 Beatles on the wall, this will cost € 480. You can also build some sort of super mosaic from all parts of 3 Iron Man or the 3 Sith sets, as you can see below.

Each mosaic is built on 9 new 16x16 base plates that are one third higher than a standard LEGO® brick. They can firmly connect them with the supplied Technic pins. You will also find a new part in the kit to hang the artwork.

Building a LEGO® Art set resembles a (difficult) puzzle and for that a LEGO® podcast will be released in which you will learn more about the artwork. You can listen to this while you are building your construction. LEGO® Art is another great addition for the adult LEGO® fan (AFOL).

Do you want to design and build a LEGO® artwork yourself? Then use the free Lunapic editor. In the article about how to design your own brick sketch you can read exactly how to turn a photo into a LEGO® image. You can then recreate the LEGO® image with LEGO® bricks. You may already have part of the parts yourself, otherwise you will find them in your favourite LEGO® webshop for loose parts and minifigures.
