Build a stork's nest

Build this cute stork couple sitting on their nest. This nest fits perfectly in your LEGO® town because it is completely made in minifigure scale.

This LEGO® creation is invented by Derks553 who we follow for a while on instagram and who we recently met in person at a LEGO® exhibition organised by Dutchbricks. He drew our attention to this nice creation and of course we asked him if we could share it with you. We have adapted his Moc a little bit to avoid using "illegal" building techniques. Each year, the storks return to their familiar nest, because the stork is very attached to its familiar place. The stork loves an artificially made human nest. The real stork nests are often made using a wagon wheel as a base. For this LEGO® MOC a steering wheel for a boat was used as a base. Because the steering wheel has protruding spokes you can attach 1 x 2 plates with clips to make a round nest. On the plates you can put a 1 x 1 tile with clip to fix the twigs. For the storks themselves you can choose to make the wings from flippers or a 1 x 1 plate with a tooth. To get the pointy beak of a real stork, a separate LEGO® minifigure hand was used. We have placed the nest high on a pole but you can also choose to place it on a chimney of your LEGO® city.
