Astrology remains immensely popular. Not only Western, but certainly Chinese astrology. Shortly after the Western New Year, the Chinese celebrate their New Year. Also the beginning of a new astrological sign.
Chinese astrology assumes a 12-year cycle and is based on the lunar calendar. The 12 signs in the Chinese zodiac are: ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. People born under a sign are also said to adopt certain traits of that animal, according to Chinese wisdom.
Your Chinese horoscope is determined by the year you were born.
2020 is the year of the rat. The Rat (or Mouse) is the constellation of people born in 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008 and, of course, 2020. (Note that the Chinese year does not coincide with the Western calendar, moreover, Chinese New Year does not fall on the same date every year. Chinese New Year always begins in January or February )
Rat is the symbol of luck and prosperity due to their ability to adapt to many circumstances. Rats are smart, especially where their own survival is concerned.
LEGO® together with ToyPro celebrated this Chinese New Year with the LEGO® 40355 set "The Year of the Rat". This special set worth €9.99 was given as a gift if you placed an order for at least €79.99 worth of LEGO® sets, parts and/or minifigures.
