Star Wars is a huge inspiration for millions of people all around the world. The first Star Wars movies have changed popular cultural till present day. Star Wars and LEGO® have been a successful combination for many years as well. A lot of Star Wars LEGO® sets have become real classics, like the TIE Striker, Millennium Falcon and First Order Heavy Assault Walker. Star Wars is also a popular theme for MOC designers, whose passion for LEGO® and Star Wars result in amazing LEGO® Star Wars MOCs. In this article we feature the very talented designer onecase from South Korea who designed this awesome Executor Super Star Destroyer MOC.
onecase is an inspiring artist who use different kinds of materials for his art, such as sculpture, photo, video and installations. He is also a huge fan of the original Star Wars ship designs created by Colin Cantwell. Though LEGO® has created many beautiful Star Wars sets, these did not meet onecase’s high standards. So he took up the challenge to design his own LEGO® Star Wars Executor Super Star Destroyer. onecase’s aim is to represent the original design as close as possible with LEGO®. You can see the result for yourself and we can summarize it in a single word: WOW.
The Executor Super Star Destroyer set consists out of 7266 LEGO® parts, weighs 4 kilograms and has a size of 132 x 49 x 20 centimeters. The design took 2 months and creating the building instructions took 3 months. onecase designed this amazing Star Wars MOC using a LEGO® 3D CAD program provided by LEGO®, which he uses for all his LEGO® MOC designs. One of the difficulties designing this LEGO® Star Wars battle ship was finding the right reference images. Another challenge was to structure the Executor Super Star Destroyer, because of its small height. onecase overcame all these challenges and raised the bar for LEGO® Star Wars MOCs.
