LEGO® Birds

Let's talk about birds. No, of course not real birds. We want to talk about LEGO® birds. After all, by now there is quite a collection of different LEGO® birds. Let's go back in time and see which (weird) birds have all been released by LEGO®.

Parrot

It all started with the Parrot that first came in the Basic Building Set (725). But most will know him as the pirate parrot that appeared in the 1989 Black Seas Barracuda set 6285. This Parrot (narrow beak) has a print of yellow and green feathers, white face and yellow beak. Meanwhile, this parrot also comes with a longer beak without printing (27063) in one color and this variant also comes with 2 different colors of molded plastic giving you a nice marble effect.

Small Birds

Then we have a little bird, the 41835. This one comes in three different colors, and they are white, red and dark azure. And in those colors it comes with or without imprinting of eyes and beak.

An also very popular bird is the Seagull. This white bird with light gray printed wings, black eyes and yellow beak is not made of the hard plastic LEGO® parts are usually made of. But of a soft rubbery material.

Owls

The owls released by LEGO® also come in many different types and colors. For example, they come with the wings along the body (92084) and with the wings spread (67632). And with or without a print. Another owl issued is, for example, the owl that also came out in LEGO® Elves sets and in Disney princess sets. This is about the owl (21333)

Friends Birds

The LEGO® Friends theme also released many different birds. The same birds are also used for the LEGO® Elves theme. For example, you have the 35074 with different colors and printing. This bird has the legs attached to each other. The bird from Friends and Elves with the legs apart is the 98388 and also comes in different colors and prints. By the way, one Parrot of the 35074 has been used in a set and in a LEGO® disney set. That was the Steamboat Willie set (21317) featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Flamingo

A somewhat more exotic bird, the Flamingo 67430 is also available in the LEGO® Friends theme. The flamingo has only been around since June 2020. This bird is also available separately from ToyPro in up to 9 different color variations and all have printed eyes and beak.

Another version of a flamingo is issued with a minifigure from the Collectible Minifigures series 19. Unfortunately, this bird is hard to come by and therefore not always available from us.

An out-sized eagle we found in the set 79017 Lord of the rings: The Battle of Five Armies. This Large Eagle (Great Eagle) consists of three separate parts and has printed wings, eyes and beak.

A bird that has been released primarily as a minifigure decoration is the crow (13665) and then it is most commonly used on Tonto's Lone Ranger figures.

Then lastly, there are two birds that were only issued with a minifigure. Because in series 22 of collectible minifigures. there was a figure with a toucan. This Toucan is cast in black, white and yellow. and has printed eyes and red accents on the beak. This makes it a highly detailed bird. And lastly, a falcon was released in Minifigure Collection Series 24. Falcon is dark gray with black printed head and yellow beak.

Non-flying birds

. Chickens

Although they can't really fly, they are birds. And I'm talking, of course, about chickens. The chicken has been released in two variations. First is the 95342 variant which is released in different colors and with and without a print. Especially for the Chicken from disney's Moana (Heihei) there is another variant released the 28586 and it is released with two different prints.

The next animal also belongs to the birds and that is the penguin, (14733) This has been released in three variants, two of which are in transparent colors and one in black and white with print.

Penguin Duck

A species of bird that cannot fly yet is the young duckling. This duckling comes in a yellow variant and a green variant. both with printed beaks and eyes.

So, now we have captured all the birds that have hatched so far in one news item. And hopefully this has given you some ideas to make your own creation with or complete your collection of birds.
