These LEGO® sets are worth their weight in gold!

20 October 2026

From a colourful unicorn café to an impressive dinosaur skeleton: LEGO® building fun is a hit all over the world. In 2026, various LEGO® sets won toy awards in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States, Australia and France. As ToyPro helps builders from all sorts of countries with their next project, we’re keen to look beyond our borders. Here are nine award-winning LEGO® sets that might just earn a spot on your wish list!

Award-winning building fun, from the Netherlands to Australia

Some toy awards are decided by a panel of experts, whilst others also involve the public. That’s why, for each set, we’ll tell you where and in which category it won. The awards vary by country, but they all highlight exceptional building sets. Some models were released as early as 2025 and received their awards in 2026.

In the Netherlands, four LEGO® sets won a professional jury prize at the 2026 Toy of the Year awards. Three of these also received the People’s Choice Award. In Belgium, several LEGO® sets were also honoured, whilst the American, Australian and French awards highlighted yet other building sets. From toddlers to adult collectors: there’s plenty to discover.

LEGO® DUPLO® City 3-in-1 Creative Slopes with Vehicles (10478)

Want to turn the living room into a stunt track? With the LEGO® DUPLO® City 3-in-1 Creative Slopes with Vehicles (10478), young builders aged 3 and up don’t need a driving licence. This set won both the expert jury prize and the People’s Choice Award in the Baby & Toddler category in the Netherlands.

With 111 pieces and two racing cars, you can build a tall ramp with a jump, two shorter ramps for racing against each other, or a track with a loop and a gap. Will your car make it to the other side? And what happens if you build the track differently? This naturally encourages playing, experimenting and rebuilding. Traffic cones, flames and a trophy complete the racing party. The winner gets the cup, whilst the rest will probably want a rematch straight away.

LEGO® Ideas Tintin® Moon Rocket (21367)

Tintin has already chosen his destination: the Moon! With the LEGO® Ideas Tintin® Moon Rocket (21367), you can build the iconic red-and-white rocket from the comic books *Rocket to the Moon* and *Men on the Moon*. This set for adults has also been racking up awards here on Earth.

In the Netherlands, the rocket won both the expert jury prize and the People’s Choice Award in the Building & Construction category. In Belgium, it won the Kidult – Construction prize at the Toys & Games of the Year 2026 awards, as well as the People’s Choice Award for Toys. A space journey with a sizeable international fanbase, then.

The rocket consists of 1,283 parts and is approximately 49 centimetres tall. A control room is concealed behind a removable panel. Tintin, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus and Jansen and Janssen are included as minifigures, along with a figure of Bobbie. A lovely building project for anyone who used to have their nose buried in the comics and now enjoys getting their hands dirty with the bricks.

LEGO® NINJAGO® 15th Anniversary: Ninja Character Display (71866)

Fifteen years of ninja adventures deserve a place of honour. LEGO® NINJAGO® 15th Anniversary: Ninja Character Display (71866) brings together familiar characters in a compact monastery. In the Netherlands, this set won the expert jury prize and the People’s Choice Award in the Play Figures, Action Figures & Play Sets category. In Belgium, it also secured victory in the Collectibles category at the Toys & Games of the Year 2026 awards.

With 447 pieces, you can build, amongst other things, a gateway, steps, a stone lantern and a cherry tree in bloom. The eight minifigures complete the anniversary set: Kai, Zane, Cole, Jay, Lloyd, Wu, Samurai X and the Master of Lightning. For fans aged 14 and over, it’s a combination of building, collecting and reminiscing.

LEGO® Editions Cristiano Ronaldo Football Highlights (43012)

Cristiano Ronaldo adds another award to his collection. LEGO® Editions Cristiano Ronaldo Football Highlights (43012) won a professional jury prize in the Building & Construction category in the Netherlands. With this set for football fans aged 10 and over, you can build a display featuring his initial, the Portuguese team colours and the famous CR7.

The set contains 490 pieces, a Ronaldo minifigure and a plaque featuring player statistics and his signature. The building details include references to his life and career. A football-themed gift that’s a real hit on the shelf, without a ball flying through the living room.

LEGO® Friends Unicorn Dream Café (42684)

In Belgium, the LEGO® Friends Unicorn Dream Café (42684) also won an award. This colourful set won at the Toys & Games of the Year 2026 in the Play World category. And there’s no shortage of stories: someone has to display the cakes, make milkshakes and stop all the doughnuts from disappearing before the first customer walks in.

With 475 pieces, children aged 6 and over can build a café with a rainbow and unicorn theme. Iza, Paisley and Aliya are included as mini-dolls. A till, indoor and outdoor seating areas and all sorts of treats provide plenty of opportunities for café play.

LEGO® Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex (76968)

In the United States, a dinosaur sank its teeth into a construction award. LEGO® Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex (76968) won the title of Construction Toy of the Year at the 2026 Toy of the Year Awards.

This set for adults contains 3,145 pieces and forms a T. rex skeleton on a 1:12 scale. Movable joints allow you to adjust its posture. A display stand, information plaque and minifigures of Ellie Sattler and Alan Grant complete the display. You won’t need to dig it up, but a bit of space on the cupboard would be handy.

LEGO® Game Boy™ (72046)

The LEGO® Game Boy™ (72046) also won an American Toy of the Year Award in 2026. This Nintendo® classic was awarded the title of Kidult Toy of the Year, the category for toys aimed at adult enthusiasts.

With 421 pieces, you can build an almost life-size replica of the original handheld games console. The recognisable buttons, the Game Pak slot and the interchangeable game cartridges for Super Mario Land™ and The Legend of Zelda™: Link’s Awakening complete the nostalgic picture.

This is a build-and-display model with no digital play function. The fun lies in building it and reminiscing about the past. Fortunately, you won’t need a stock of spare batteries for that this time.

LEGO® Speed Champions Ferrari SF-24 F1® racing car (77242)

We’re off to Australia, where the LEGO® Speed Champions Ferrari SF-24 F1® racing car (77242) won Construction Product of the Year at the 2026 Australian Toy Association Awards. A podium finish for Ferrari – but in the world of toys.

With 275 pieces, you can build a model of the Ferrari from the 2024 Formula 1 season. The set, for builders aged 10 and over, includes a cockpit with a halo, a rear wing, sponsor stickers and a driver minifigure. Ready for a race across the table or a place of honour alongside your other cars.

LEGO® Star Wars™ SMART Play™: Luke’s Red Five X-wing™ (75423)

In France, LEGO® Star Wars™ SMART Play™: Luke’s Red Five X-wing™ (75423) soared to victory at the 2026 Grand Prix du Jouet. The set won in the interactive building toys category.

This 581-piece set, suitable for children aged 6 and over, combines building with light and sound. The SMART brick reacts to movements and play scenarios. SMART minifigures of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, along with five SMART tags, provide interactive possibilities. This means that flying around, laser battles and repairs all have their own effects.

A world full of award-winners, a building project just for you

These award-winning LEGO® sets showcase just how vast the world of LEGO® is. A toddler discovers how a race track works, a Friends fan opens a café, and an adult builder reminisces with Tintin or the Game Boy™. Different countries, different awards and plenty of ideas for your next building adventure.
