Play a game of football alone or against your friends with this unique Sioux and Tech United Football robot. This Mindstorms extension set has been developed by Jan Willem van Silfhout and Hans Odenthal of high-tech company Sioux, and is now exclusively for sale at ToyPro. The Sioux and Tech United football robot was based on the 5th generation TURTLE-football robot by Tech United, multiple world champion robot football and supporter of this project.
This LEGO® football robot can move and turn into every possible direction thanks to its omni-wheels. You operate this ingenious football robot by remote control, and with its grippers you grab the red ball (comes along with the order) and shoot it off again.
The Sioux and Tech United Football robot is not a regular LEGO® set; it is an MOC to be ordered exclusively at ToyPro. Careful, this is not a ‘stand alone set’, but an extension set to the LEGO® Mindstorms EV3 Home Edition set (31313). You haven’t got the Home Editions Mindstorms EV3 set yet? If you order the Mindstorms EV3 set now, together with the Sioux and Tech United football robot, you will benefit from a €25 discount on the total price.
The Sioux and Tech United Football robot consists of parts of the Mindstorms Home Edition set completed with parts of this exclusive extension set and paper building instructions. You have the option to further extend the robot yourself with a Pixycam, for example, and of course you can programme the robot following your own wishes completely. Besides, you can adapt and improve this football robot after your own ideas – after all, it is a LEGO® robot.
Although this LEGO® football robot is based on the Tech United robot, it is not an exact copy in LEGO®. The functionalities of the real world champion are far greater than those of the Sioux and Tech United football robot. Nevertheless, you have the possibility to improve, to programme and to extend the Sioux and Tech United Football robot.
About the original Tech United Turtle Football robot
Tech United is the football robot team of the Technical University Eindhoven and fourfold world champion robot football. The 5th TURTLE-football robot, on which the LEGO® Mindstorms football robot was based, became world champion in Montreal during the RoboCup 2018. The TURTLE can move independently, dribble, pass and shoot, just like a human football player. On top of that, TURTLE was programmed to play together and to communicate with his 4 co-robot football players.
