The LEGO® Ideas JAWS set

The LEGO® Ideas JAWS set, a buildable diorama celebrating the infamous 1975 blockbuster film "JAWS", from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment. The LEGO Ideas JAWS set is an accurately designed recreation of one of the film's most famous scenes, allowing fans to relive the excitement and thrill of Spielberg's masterpiece in LEGO form.

To celebrate the launch, the LEGO Group, in partnership with Universal Products & Experiences, has created the first summer "brick-buster" mini-movie, "JAWS...in a Jiffy." This playful retelling of the iconic summer movie lasts just 90 seconds and features all the favourite scenes, with a surprise minifigure reveal from award-winning director Steven Spielberg behind the bang at the end.
Originally conceived by LEGO fan Johnny Campbell via the LEGO Ideas community platform, the 1497-piece set captures key elements and characters from the film in LEGO minifigure form - including police chief Martin Brody, marine biologist Matt Hooper and sailor Sam Quint. The set also includes the iconic Orca boat, featuring a detailed cabin with removable roof, adjustable boom and rigging, plus plenty of recognisable accessories such as a revolver, compass, fishing rod, harpoon, spear and the yellow barrels that were crucial to the film's storyline.
The set can be placed on a buildable sea water base with the JAWS LEGO shark model attacking the Orca boat. A printed tile with Chief Brody's famous quote ("You're gonna need a bigger boat") has also been added to the base to complete this nostalgic and playful centrepiece. Alternatively, the shark can be displayed separately from the boat on its own stand.
On his approach to designing the set, fan designer Johnny Campbell says: "JAWS is my favourite film of all time, so I really wanted to recreate it in LEGO bricks. Building LEGO has always been a part of my life, but to get all the fine details, I paused JAWS while watching so I could glimpse the details and take notes. It's just incredible that my design is now an official LEGO set. I can't wait to stand in a LEGO shop, look at the shelves and see a set I collaborated on, and see someone buy it. It's every LEGO fan's dream!"
