Bernadette is one of the characters in the "Big Bang Theory", a CBS tv-serie that started in 2007.
Bernadette Rostenkowski is a microbiologist and also Howard Wolowitz's wife. She became friends with the others while waitressing at the same restaurant as Penny to pay for her graduate studies in microbiology. Though generally friendly and good-natured, she can also be guite intimidating when she has the world's most dangerous viruses, not all her experiments in the laboratoy end succesfully - as her time in quarantine demostrates.
