Luisa Madrigal is a character from Encanto, the 2021 Disney film and also available as a LEGO® minipuppet in the LEGO® Disney Classic series.
Luisa is the middle daughter of Julieta and Agustín Madrigal and Mirabel's older sister. Luisa is known for her superhuman strength, which she uses to help her family and village.
Luisa is the strong and reliable mainstay of the family. She effortlessly lifts heavy objects such as donkeys, bridges and buildings, and helps the village with all kinds of tasks. But although she seems indestructible from the outside, she suffers silently from the enormous pressure to always be strong and helpful.
This is reflected in her song "Surface Pressure," in which she sings about the fear of failure and how she fears that if she is not strong enough, she will lose her value. This shows that her gift is a burden rather than a blessing.
When the magic of the Madrigals begins to weaken, Luisa notices that her strength is waning, which causes her to panic. This leads to a deeper self-reflection, in which she realizes that she does not always have to carry everything and that her value is not only in her strength.
