Dream guardian Izzie goes into battle with Grimspawn in the set 71453, Izzie and Bunchu the rabbit. This set looks very colorful and that is mainly because of Izzie's rabbit. In episode 5 of the series, Izzie brings her stuffed rabbit to life in the dream world. In LEGO® form, this rabbit is of course adaptable again from the standard rabbit in two other versions. In this set that is a rabbit with wings, or a rabbit wearing roller skates.
71453 Izzie and Bunchu the Bunny

Opening the box we find the description and 3 numbered bags. This time no stickers so all parts where something is on the street are printed. The first bag contains of course Izzy with sword, hourglass and small stuffed rabbit. Grimspawn has a safety net to catch Izzie's cuddly toy. Again, this is nicely depicted in cartoon form in the instruction booklet to add power and explanation to the story.
This first bag also contains the parts for the first part of the big rabbit. This rabbit is built like a Mech. As we also see in other sets from Ninjago and Marvel sets. Having built the first pouch, you will have the torso, head and ears ready.

So the second bag contains the rabbit's legs and arms. The S.N.O.T. technique, or Studs Not On Top, is widely used in construction. This is a building technique to see as few studs of bricks as possible. And which allows you to build in different directions. If all the bricks (except the spare) are used again from bag 2 then you have finished the standard rabbit.

Now it's time to choose again. Will you build a rabbit with roller skates on or will you go for the bee rabbit to go after Grimspawn.

All the parts for the addition are in the last bag. We chose to make the rabbit on roller skates. Again, this set uses new parts or new colors for existing parts. For example, we do see opportunities to use the flames/wings as trees in a MOC.

As we mentioned earlier, there are two minifigures in this set and a rabbit stuffed toy. Izzie has printed legs and torso. Around her neck she has shoulder pads and her head is printed on two sides. On one side she has a smiling open mouth and has her eyes open. On the other side she has a smiling mouth with her teeth together and has her eyes squeezed shut. Her hair is transparent satin purple and she wears it backwards in a ponytail. Her accessories are of course the hourglass and also she has a golden sword with blue blade. Grimspawn has a black bodice with a black head and black helmet on top of which there is a transparent purple feather. The head has a print of angry looking eyes and a scar on the cheek. As an accessory, Grimspawn has a medium nougat safety net. Then finally we have the stuffed rabbit Bunchu which is printed with coral and metallic purple accents.

This set is a smaller but very colorful set and will definitely be fun for the somewhat younger fans of the series. Should you want more challenging builds, there are more fun sets in the LEGO® DreamZzz theme. It does remain fun to occasionally convert the rabbit from riding to flying, or vice versa. Because the rabbit is built like a Mech, it is sturdy enough to play nicely with and defeat the nightmares.
