The Different Types of LEGO Minifigure Legs
1. Standard Legs
The best known variety. These legs are 1.5 bricks high and have hinge points at the hips so they can move. They come in hundreds of colors and prints, from simple solid colors to detailed prints such as belts, pants pockets, rips or boots.
2. Short Legs
These legs are designed for younger or smaller characters, such as children, dwarves or certain types of aliens. They are about 1 brick tall and have no moving parts.
3. Mid Legs.
LEGO introduced this variant in 2018, for example in the Harry Potter sets. They are 1.25 bricks high and do have moving hips. An ideal intermediate size for teenagers or small adults.
4. Legs with one Leg.
These asymmetrical legs are specially designed for characters with prosthetic or pirate styles. One side is a normal leg, the other side is a wooden leg or other shape.
5. Legs with Skirt or Dress
Instead of two separate legs, this type has a massive shape that looks like a skirt. They are sometimes tapered or completely straight, depending on the character.
6. Extra Long Legs
These legs are 2.5 bricks high and have been mainly used for various Avatar minifigures.
Prints and Special Details
LEGO minifigure legs often feature detailed prints: tears in the fabric, metal prosthetics, knee pads or even printed pockets. Dual-molded legs (two colors of plastic in one part) are also becoming increasingly popular asd in superheroes.
