There is nothing more annoying than being sick and staying in the hospital, a little flower in the hospital room can make it a little cozier. But what if you are not allowed to have flowers in your room?
The hematology department at Erasmus MC houses patients with benign and malignant diseases of blood, bone marrow and lymph nodes. These patients have a low resistance and can get infections quickly.
This is the reason they are not allowed to have flowers in their rooms. Unfortunately, these patients are sometimes in the hospital for a very long time. Often it is not only chemotherapy or radiation, but also transplants. We would like to offer these patients something extra. Togheter with PATIO.
LEGO® flowers are a nice alternative to brighten up the room a little during the hospital stay. By putting the LEGO® set together themselves, the patient is distracted from being sick for a while. It can also be a nice topic of conversation with visitors. The flower can be taken home upon discharge from the hospital.
