25 Years of LEGO® Star Wars

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the LEGO® Star Wars™ collaboration between the LEGO Group and Lucasfilm. As a tribute to LEGO® Star Wars fans across the galaxy, the LEGO Group will be celebrating with several new building sets and special events throughout the year. As you would expect from ToyPro, we will also join in the celebration of this anniversary.

The LEGO Group kicked off the anniversary festivities at the Spielwarenmesse, also known as the Nuremberg Toy Fair, in Germany, with new anniversary products now available for pre-order. In addition, the LEGO Group announced the LEGO Star Wars 25-Second Film Festival, which kicked off in March as part of the festivities.

First unveiled at the 1999 International Toy Fair in New York, the LEGO Star Wars collaboration is celebrating its 25-year milestone at Spielwarenmesse with a selection of 25-year-old LEGO Star Wars building sets, launching March 1. These include a new Starship Collection line featuring brand new building sets inspired by the Millennium Falcon™ and the Invisible Hand™ starships; not one but, two building sets inspired by the Tantive IV™ ship; and a special 25th anniversary building set honoring R2-D2™. Some sets include collectible minifigures never before seen in LEGO form or anniversary tiles to mark the special occasion.

The LEGO booth at Spielwarenmesse featured a brand new LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary logo with a LEGO recreation of the adorable droid R2-D2. Visitors could also find a 1:1 R2-D2 made from 27,797 LEGO elements here. The life-size structure of R2-D2 will travel through Europe and the US in 2024.

Additional product releases in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the LEGO Star Wars collaboration include an updated edition of DK's LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary, which comes with an exclusive new minifigure.It is currently available for pre-order and will be released in April 2024.

There will be more opportunities to celebrate throughout the year as the LEGO Group joins forces with their fan community to highlight their creativity and passion for LEGO Star Wars.
